The Fair Trade Shop (Ipswich) Ltd is a company limited by guarantee and was set up 25 years ago. For 20years we had a shop in Orwell Place which over the years saw a decreasing footfall and although we had anumber of loyal and committed customers most of the time it was very quiet. In September 2015 wemoved to a much busier street, Upper Brook Street, just a few doors away from Sainsburys. We aregreatly enjoying being in this location with a higher profile for fair trade in the town. We sell a range of fairly-traded and environmentally-friendly goods, including food and beverages, musicalinstruments, jewellery, children's wooden toys, craft, paper goods, bags and scarves and home textiles. The shop has a part-time paid manager who is also a Director; the rest of the Directors and staff arevolunteers and our aim is to increase the sales of goods which have been produced without exploitationand in schemes which improve the lives of workers and their communities.

The Trade Justice Movement is a UK coalition of nearly sixty civil society organisations, with millions of individual members, calling for trade rules that work for people and planet. Our members include trade unions, aid agencies, environment and human rights campaigns, Fair Trade organisations and consumer groups.

We partner with people who are fighting for their communities and finding better ways to trade.
